Curriculum

A Therapeutic Education Crafted To Fit Every Student

Our curriculum focuses on academic learning and personal development to support students in building relationships and generalizing skills across various environments.

Through individualized and small group instruction, including hands-on activities, manipulatives, visual aids, and physical activities, students remain engaged while developing a rich understanding of concepts.

West Family School incorporates various components of several research-based curriculums to provide a structured yet flexible approach to learning and ensure each student is challenged within their ability.

Notes on our curriculum

We emphasize executive functioning, emotional intelligence, and a growth mindset utilizing motivational interviewing, CogniMoves, and Zones of Regulation.

Community-based integration provides a more holistic approach to experiential and incidental learning and demonstrates how environmental factors and emotions influence learning.

In addition to the therapeutic interventions integrated throughout the day, students receive individualized speech and occupational therapy sessions to target their specific goals.
